Salvete Latin Lovers!

Benny & Zoe!

Dust off your Latin books, and let's pick up where we left off in Chapter 2.  I'd like you to read 'The family says goodbye' on p. 17-18 again to remember where we left Flavius & co. the last time we saw them, and then read Grasp the Grammar at the top of p.19.  We've already discussed adverbs, so this is a review.  You guys will then hunt for adverbs in the story you'll have just read on p.17-18.  Benny, please find all the adverbs you can in the odd-numbered boxes, and Zoe, you do the evens.  Post your answers, please, because we'll be sharing our work as much as possible.  After that, I'd like you to write 5 sentences in Latin with adverbs -  be sure to use different verbs and adverbs in each one or the practice won't be much help to you.  Finally, please read 'Odysseus at Sea' on p. 19.  Think about what Odysseus did.  Was it a good idea?  Was he being a good leader?  What would you have thought if you were one of his men?

Benny, see if you can get your hands on an Asterix comic book (in English) at the library, but not Asterix the Gaul, since we're going to try to translate that one from Latin, and it won't be much of a challenge if you've got the English staring you in the face.  Familiarize yourself with the characters and premise of the stories, so that you'll have some idea of what's going on when we start the translations.  Meanwhile, Zoe and I will try to find our copy of Asterix Gallus, which is MIA.

Let's check in on Thursday with Minimus Secundus to see where we are, and Benny, if you can find an Asterix book by Friday and start reading it over the weekend, that would be most excellent.

Hello!

We are going to the library on Monday -- didn't get there last week!

Thanks for the lessons! This will really help!
